Cleaning It Up
Like all fences, you will need to clean your wrought iron fence. First, fill a bucket with warm water and some detergent. Alternatively, you could use dish soap, too. Don’t forget about the sponge before you go to start cleaning. A gentle wipe down should be all you need to get rid of dirt, dust, leaves, and stains.
That said, don’t use any chemical cleaners. These solutions can strip away the metal on your wrought iron fence. Avoid using a stiff brush, as you could scratch the paint or the finish – this is even more likely if your wrought iron fence has been powder coated to change its color. Then once you’re done, give your fence a good rinse so that soap residue doesn’t leave any lasting damage by accident.
